I developed the wayfinding system at GulfQuest, an interactive maritime museum.
This massive project all started with one page:
I designed and placed directional signage throughout the museum.
I found this simple silhouette image to be the most effective way to show the location of each deck in the building.
I designed the "you are here" map signage so the building would be easy to navigate from where the map was placed. Since this is an interactive museum, I wanted the static signage to appear to have a movable lever on the right.
The last step was to design the map for the visitors. The full-color side featured the maps of the decks and was printed at the printer. The black and white side featured daily happenings and was printed in-house every day.
