Business Alabama
For three years, I art directed and designed Business Alabama magazine along with several annual publications. Designing a monthly magazine taught me how to build strong editorial systems while keeping each issue feeling fresh. I designed feature layouts, covers, indexes, and monthly sections while balancing tight deadlines, large page counts, and overlapping production schedules. During that time, I also served as production manager for Mobile Bay Magazine while working on annual publications including Top Rank and Economic Development Guide.

I art directed and designed Top Rank, an annual publication compiling Alabama business rankings across industries. The challenge was organizing dense information into layouts that felt clear, structured, and easy to navigate.

Economic Development Guide
I served as art director for Economic Development Guide, an annual publication focused on Alabama’s economic growth and development. The publication combined long-form editorial design, charts, maps, and data into clean layouts with a strong focus on clarity and readability.

The Scroll
I’ve worked on The Scroll over the years as both a photo retoucher and art director. This annual publication honors the Mobile Carnival Association’s Mardi Gras monarchs and features ornate gowns, trains, and formal portraits. During photo shoots, visqueen is placed beneath the trains to protect them before Mardi Gras, and part of my retouching process involved carefully removing it so the final images felt polished and seamless. In addition to photo retouching, I also worked on production preparation and editorial design for the publication.
